The lock screen you see before this dashboard loads checks a passcode set directly in the code (search for LIFE_OS_PASSCODE in the JS to change it). Being honest about what this is: it's a client-side check — anyone who views the page source could find the password, so it deters casual visitors and search engines, but it isn't real server-side security. It stays unlocked for your current browser session; closing the tab and reopening asks again. For a much harder-to-bypass layer, use the _headers Basic-Auth file (blocks access at the server, before the page even loads) — see SETUP.md. Using both together is the strongest setup.

Plaid's API doesn't allow calling it directly from a browser with your Client ID/Secret — it has to go through a server. Your keys now live in Netlify environment variables (see setup steps below) instead of being typed in here, and this button calls a Netlify function that talks to Plaid on your behalf.

After Step 1: log in to Schwab in the new tab → click Allow → you will see a blank error page → copy the FULL URL from the address bar → paste it in the field below → click Step 2. Once connected, your App Key/Secret and tokens are saved in this browser — you won't need to redo this on every visit or deploy. Schwab requires a full reconnect roughly once a week (their security policy, not this app) — if your portfolio looks stale, just repeat Step 1 & 2.

Get a key at console.anthropic.com → API Keys → Create Key. This key is kept in your browser only (sessionStorage) and is sent directly from your phone/browser to Anthropic when you scan a food photo — it is never stored on a server. Set a low monthly budget limit on the key in the console as a safety cap.

This dashboard is a static site — it can't reach into your Apple Watch on its own. The bridge is the Health Auto Export iPhone app: it reads HealthKit in the background and POSTs the data to a webhook URL on a schedule. Point that webhook at this site's health-import function and every log auto-fills.
